Sweet Plum Creative is an agency based in Seattle that offers marketing services to Real Estate Agents. My job entails several responsibilities, like creating websites, emails, videos, social media posts, flyers, brochures, anything the agents need. Which always has to be in a timely manner given their line of work. Before starting any design, I would research and brainstorm a strategy that would help catch the viewers attention. After I design, I give the clients 2-3 options to choose from, explaining my vision with each version. Through this job, I’ve expanded my skills across various regions and have become a more well-rounded and confident designer.

The client’s previous Instagram feed lacked consistency with her established brand identity and failed to highlight her core values. This created a noticeable disconnect between her social media presence and her other marketing channels, such as her website and email campaigns.

Challenge

I refined her Instagram feed to align with her clean, elegant, and trustworthy brand. Photos were edited for a light, refreshing aesthetic, and mock-ups featured her brand colors in subtle elements. Introducing monthly home tips added value, boosting both follower growth and client inquiries.

Short-Form Video Strategy & Creation

POWER OF PLACE PODCAST

The client sought to increase engagement and visibility for his podcast, Power of Place – Stories of the Pacific Northwest. To achieve this, I introduced short-form video content through reels. To maintain brand recognition and visual consistency, he needed clear guidelines for video production.

Challenge

I developed comprehensive photography, videography, and music guidelines to ensure a cohesive aesthetic across all video content. Each reel was edited with dynamic cuts synchronized to music, along with captions to enhance engagement. For every podcast episode, I carefully selected a compelling 10-15 second excerpt that encapsulated the guest’s key message, creating impactful, shareable content.

  • Photo Editing: Edit for clarity, brightness, and color correction as needed.

  • Composition: Medium depth is preferred, with subjects centered in the frame to accommodate 19:6 cropping.

  • Style: Candid shots are preferred, though set-up shots are acceptable when necessary.

Videography Direction

To engage the audience effectively, reels play a vital role in promoting the Power of Place podcast. The following design structure and requirements ensure a polished and engaging presentation:

  • Immediate Engagement: Feature Edward Krigsman within the first 3 seconds.

  • Episode Highlights: Include the episode title, number, featured guests, and the Power of Place logo mark.

  • Call-to-Action: Add a compelling prompt to encourage viewers to tune in.

Photography Direction

Power of Place focuses on real people and their stories, the music should reflect this feeling.

MUSIC AND SOUND

Music should come from a jazzy, soulful tone and should be appropiate to the featured guest. A grounded sense of timelessness is necessary to convey the Power of Place brand to the listener.
